Sebastian Merkel advises national and international clients primarily on Private Equity transactions, as well as on all aspects of Mergers & Acquisitions and general corporate law matters.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Sebastian gained experience as a lawyer in an international and multidisciplinary law firm. He studied in Freiburg and subsequently completed a traineeship program at a US law firm in New York City. He received his PhD with a dissertation on civil liability between group companies for tortious damages to third parties and completed his legal clerkship in Hamburg.
