Matt Eisler leads the Hogan Lovells Global Sports Practice Group and is a recognized leader in major sports transactions. He recently advised Fenway Sports Group and the Strategic Sports Group on their $3 billion investment in PGA Enterprises, named Sports Business Journal’s 2025 “Sports Deal of the Year.”

Matt has been honored as a "Sports Super Lawyer" by The Hollywood Reporter, an “MVP” by Law360, a “Power Player” by Sports Business Journal, a “Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal, and a “Highly Commended Practitioner” by the Financial Times.

Under his leadership, HL Sports has become a global leader, earning Law360’s “Sports and Betting Group of the Year” four times in six years, with standout strength in M&A, investigations, regulatory, disputes, and commercial matters.

Matt represents ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and their fiduciaries in record-setting sports transactions, and has been at the forefront of private equity investment in professional teams.

He also serves as Deputy Head of Hogan Lovells’ Americas Corporate & Finance practice, helping drive firmwide growth.

Despite all this, Matt remains unwavering in his belief—against all odds (and maybe good sense)—that the Colorado Rockies will win the World Series in his lifetime.
