Denver, New York, 23 May 2025 – Hogan Lovells is proud to announce that the Strategic Sports Group–PGA TOUR Enterprises transaction, on which the firm advised Strategic Sports Group, has been named “Deal of the Year” at the 2025 Sports Business Awards, hosted by Sports Business Journal in New York.

This landmark deal—led by Strategic Sports Group (SSG) and anchored by Fenway Sports Group—represents a transformative moment for the future of professional golf. Hogan Lovells advised SSG on the creation of PGA TOUR Enterprises, a groundbreaking commercial venture under the PGA TOUR’s control that brings together leading sports investors in support of the TOUR’s long-term growth and innovation.

The transaction was selected from a highly competitive field of nominees across multiple major sports leagues, including the NBA, NHL, and WWE. The recognition underscores both the significance of the investment and the strength of our global sports M&A practice.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Matthew Eisler, partner and Global Head of the Hogan Lovells Sports practice, and partners Russell Hedman and Mark Weinstein.
