Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced today that Alberto de la Parra has joined as a Corporate & Finance partner in our Mexican offices and based in Mexico City. He comes to us from Jones Day and will be a part of the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources & Projects (IERP) practice area.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alberto to our firm,” said James Doyle, Global Head of the Corporate & Finance practice group. “His arrival strengthens and expands our capabilities across our finance, M&A, and projects groups in Mexico. Alberto is a leading lawyer for high value transactional advice in Mexico City and will complement our existing practices as we look to develop and grow our offering in this important market.”

At Jones Day, de la Parra led the Banking and Finance Practice in Mexico City. Throughout his prominent career that spans several decades, he spent 16 years at Santamarina & Steta, a well-known local firm, where he was a partner and member of the Management Committee. He also worked at Galicia Abogados and Grupo Mexico, one of the largest conglomerates in Mexico, where he served as general counsel before his most recent position at Jones Day. He is well known for his leading role in high-profile projects in the infrastructure and M&A space including mining, transportation operations, and more. Throughout his career, he has advised on landmark transactions including the privatization of the Mexican Airports, railroad, and steel industries, representing a variety of different clients.

“Alberto’s breadth of knowledge significantly enhances the capabilities of our IERP team,” said Tobias Faber, Practice Area Leader - Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, and Projects. “His strong profile in the infrastructure sector will help open doors to opportunities across financial institutions, transportation, manufacturing, and mining, all areas we see great potential within Mexico and across our global footprint. Hogan Lovells already has a strong offering in the infrastructure and energy sector in Mexico, and Alberto will be the fourth partner in the group.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Alberto to our Mexico City office,” said Omar Guerrero, Office Managing Partner – Mexico Offices. “He is highly regarded across the infrastructure and financial industries, and his experience will be instrumental to our work in Latin America. His relationships with leading Mexican financial institutions will further elevate our firm’s reputation in this critical market.”

de la Parra added, “I am delighted to join Hogan Lovells at such an exciting time. The firm is experiencing strong momentum globally, and its deep commitment to Latin America is a key reason why I knew it would be the right fit for my practice. With a growing presence across the region, Hogan Lovells is uniquely positioned to support clients navigating complex, cross-border transactions and transformative infrastructure projects. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the firm’s global platform to deliver exceptional results for our clients.”
