Alberto has significant experience representing clients in structuring infrastructure and energy generation projects in Mexico including projects related to the transportation sector, with several of these transactions having won “deal of the year“ awards by several ranking institutions.
In the infrastructure sector, Alberto has led some of the largest infrastructure projects in Mexico. Some of the iconic projects he has acted as leading counsel for are the privatization of the Mexican rail and airport sectors and the financing of Terminal II of the Mexico City Airport. Alberto also led the representation of the entity entrusted with the construction of the new Mexico City Airport on several financings.
Alberto’s practice spans all facets of the energy sector, from traditional renewables to oil & gas and to cutting edge technologies. In the energy sector, he has represented, among many others, a consortium led by Fisterra Energy on the structuring of the largest wind farm (360 MW) in Mexico from the project point of view and its structured financing.
For the last 20 years, Alberto has represented several financial institutions in complex financial transactions, including the acquisition financing for Grupo Mexico to acquire Florida East Coast, the financing for Fibra Uno of its iconic building, Mitikah and most recently the representation of a group of banks led by BBVA and SMBC in the financing of Line 4 of Guadalajara’s Metro, which won the “Best Deal of the Year” by Latin Lawyer in 2025.
