Select IP with Hogan Lovells | Webinar no. 27: IP Transactions: Due diligence, AI, Data, and related issues

The IP webinar series for Japanese companies discussing cost-effective strategies and practical risk management across multiple jurisdictions

We are delighted to invite our selected Japanese clients and contacts to the 27th session of our ongoing IP webinar series, Select IP, taking place from 15:00 to 16:30 JST on Wednesday, 29 October 2025.

This session will focus on “IP Transactions: Due diligence, AI, Data, and related issues”.

This is the second part of our two-part series where we revisit and expand upon key themes from our 2022 sessions. This webinar will spotlight recent developments in the European Union (“EU”), including the Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) Act of the EU and the EU Data Act, and explore their impact on IP transactions and the use of AI – extending beyond data rights to broader issues such as infrastructure challenges (e.g. data center power access).

Dr Frederick Ch’en, Christian Stoll, John Brockland, and Polly Sims will share insights on due diligence from both strategic and legal perspectives. They will offer a practical, risk-based, and multi-jurisdictional approach, with emphasis on how Japanese companies can benefit from understanding the approach of the U.S. and the EU to these evolving and important issues. We will also consider sector-specific issues, particularly in the fields of Life Sciences, Digital Technology, and Energy Transition.

There will be a question-and-answer period and you will be able to submit questions online during the session. If you would like to send questions in advance (in Japanese or English), please do so through the registration form.

We very much look forward to your attendance.
