Fabian has extensive experience handling issues such as delays, cost overruns, defects, and contract variations. He handles disputes across renewable energy (offshore and onshore wind farms, solar, biomass), energy-from-waste plants, water treatment facilities, oil and gas projects (incl. LNG terminals) as well as major infrastructure such as tunnels, roads, and rail vehicle construction. Another key focus is disputes relating to data centers and other forms of digital infrastructure. His expertise spans the full project lifecycle, from construction through operation, across Europe and the Middle East. He is highly skilled in EPC and O&M contracts, as well as the FIDIC Books. Fabian advises on technology disputes, including software and IT outsourcing projects, and has deep expertise in leveraging software solutions to process large volumes of data for litigation.
From the outset, Fabian pursued a strong international focus. Alongside his German legal studies, he earned a French law degree at Saarland University and spent a year at the University of Geneva. During his traineeship, he clerked at the Regional Court of Mainz and worked with leading law firms in Frankfurt and New York. After admission to the bar, he obtained an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and later completed a doctorate in comparative law, publishing his dissertation on B2B contract terms with Duncker & Humblot.
Fabian co-chaired the Frankfurt regional chapter of DIS40 from 2021 to 2023 and has long served on the Editorial Board of the Kluwer Arbitration Blog. He regularly publishes on issues related to the resolution of project disputes.
