Elli Zachari advises multinational companies, financial institutions and governmental bodies on a wide range of EU and international trade matters. Her practice encompasses World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement proceedings, representing clients in EU trade defence investigations before the European Commission, and litigation before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Elli regularly advises clients on export controls and sanctions compliance, and has been involved in related enforcement proceedings and litigation. Elli also assists clients with respect to novel trade barriers, such as the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation and the EU Deforestation Regulation.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, Elli gained significant experience at leading law firms in Brussels, where she worked extensively on EU and international trade matters, as well as EU regulatory issues. She also interned at the WTO Legal Affairs division and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
