Shelita serves on the leadership team of the firm’s Sports, Media, and Entertainment industry sector, named Law 360 Sports & Betting practice group of the year 2023 to the present. Shelita developed specific experience in technology, media, and entertainment industries during her six years spent in-house at Comcast Corporation where she previously served as Senior Deputy General Counsel. Having started her career at Hogan Lovells (then Hogan & Hartson), Shelita rejoined the firm in 2021 bringing her in-house corporate experience to provide clients with actionable, practical, and strategic legal advice.
As a member of the Hogan Lovells Crisis Leadership Team, Shelita leverages her investigations and compliance skills to address critical client events. From fast-paced deals to changes in government enforcement to the advent of new technologies, her work responds to the current opportunities and challenges faced by boards, shareholders, consumers, and communities of companies large and small.
Shelita also recognizes the importance of using her legal skills in service of the communities that she represents. To preserve voter access across our country, Shelita is litigating cases alongside nonprofit organizations challenging districting maps as violations of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, including serving on the case team that secured the victory in Allen v. Milligan U.S.1 (2023).
Shelita is a D.C. native and graduate of Yale University and Columbia Law School.

Representing media, entertainment, and technology companies in investigations relating to the development, deployment, and marketing of its AI related technologies, impacting employees and consumers
Advising leading technology companies on global mergers, acquisitions, joint-venture, and investment transactions with strategic business and community partners
Advising global institutions in matters involving alleged misconduct at subsidiary entities, including developing global remediation strategies resulting in the U.S. government declining to prosecute
Counsel global mergers, acquisitions, and investment teams in compliance due diligence, deal terms, and post-deal integration for transactions in the UK, Europe, and Asia.
Counseled leading home development retailer in containment, response, and remediation of one of largest payment card data breaches in U.S. history, affecting over 100 million customers.
