Advised a global financial institution establishing a new digital retail bank in the UK. Supported throughout the authorisation process including product, policy and process design, advice on regulatory requirements, providing document templates for the PRA application and reviewing the end-to-end application package.
Advised on the establishment and authorisation of a repo / securities lending and total return swap multilateral trading facility (MTF). Undertook a compliance review for an international bank to determine whether it was meeting its requirements under PSD2. Activities included review of documented sales process, customer documentation and internal procedures, GAP analysis against regulatory requirements and production of a report highlighting compliance risks and suggesting potential enhancements to strengthen regulatory position.
Carried out a review of compliance uplift activity undertaken by an insurance broker, as part of wider due diligence relating to a potential purchase. Reviewed documentation evidencing implementation to provide assurance to the buyer that the uplift programme had been implemented as agreed. Activities included review of documented sales process, GAP analysis against regulatory requirements, and production of a report highlighting compliance risks and suggesting activities to help the client better understand/remedy identified risks.
Undertook a review of the core compliance documentation suite of an international wholesale bank, including a divergence review between applicable UK and EU regulatory requirements under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, Market Abuse Regulation, European Market Infrastructure Regulation and the Benchmark Regulation, and relevant FCA and PRA rules and guidance, and uplifted the bank’s compliance manual and related policies, procedures and processes.
Undertook a review of the policies and procedures of a global commodity derivatives exchange, relating to the operational aspects of its trading platform under the UK regulatory requirements stemming from the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and related FCA rules and guidance.
