Awards & rankings | 07 November 2025

London, 7 November 2025 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells has been ranked second in Law.com International’s Best Law Firms for Pro Bono in the UK 2025.

The rankings, released during the U.K.’s 24th annual Pro Bono Week, assess firms on total pro bono hours, average hours per lawyer, and overall participation rates. Hogan Lovells was recognised for its outstanding contribution to pro bono across all categories. Importantly, the firm was further commended for its impact, being “consistently named by rivals as a leading firm in this area” and credited as “one of the U.K.’s largest contributors to pro bono.”

The firm was commended for its wide-ranging work, including Rights of Rivers, which advanced legal personhood protections for U.K. waterways, and its long-running support for victims of domestic abuse through the Domestic Abuse Response Alliance (DARA) and anti-trafficking work. The firm also advised startups through HL BaSE, tackling climate change with AI-driven biodiversity solutions in partnership with Bright Tide.

Yasmin Waljee OBE, International Pro Bono Partner, said: “As lawyers, we are inherently committed to justice and the rule of law. Wherever we are employed in the commercial legal profession, we can and should be standing up to be part of the solution to improving access to justice and the world around us and not just waiting for others to do so. All the firms in the pro bono listing recognise this, but I am proud that at Hogan Lovells we have a practice where hundreds of lawyers deliver on that commitment and where pro bono is truly embedded in the fabric of the firm.”
