Hogan Lovells has advised Bohai Leasing on the sale of Seaco to Stonepeak

London, 19 December 2025 - Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd (“Bohai Leasing”) on its sale of Global Sea Containers Limited (“Seaco”) to Typewriter Ascend Ltd, an entity controlled by Stonepeak, (“Stonepeak”) for an equity purchase price of $1.75 billion, subject to certain adjustments.

This transaction, combining Textainer and Seaco’s fleets, will create the world's largest and most diversified container fleet on a CEU (cost equivalent units) basis, of roughly 8.3 million CEU.

Originally established in 1965, Seaco is incorporated in Bermuda and was a an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Bohai Leasing (an entity listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange) prior to completion of the transaction. Seaco operates as a marine container leasing company with global operations and, today, owns and operates a container fleet greater than 2.4 million TEU globally with over 360 depots and 23 offices.

Stonepeak is a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets with approximately $73 billion of assets under management. As a sponsor of private equity and credit investment vehicles, Stonepeak provides capital, operational support, and committed partnership to grow investments in its target sectors, which include transport and logistics, digital infrastructure, energy and energy transition, and real estate.
