Led by Frankfurt partner Maximilian Broermann global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised energy software provider Volue, a leading supplier of technology and enabler of the green transition, on the acquisition of software developer smartPulse, a leading full suite short term power trading and battery optimisation platform for asset owners and aggregators across Europe.

The acquisition enhances Volue’s capabilities through smartPulse’s proven platform and experienced team, significantly accelerating Volue’s expansion into Central and Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, and Türkiye. By combining decades of expertise, it unites strong market know-how within one of Europe’s fastest-growing power markets. The resulting offering provides a comprehensive suite of solutions covering forecasting, position management, scheduling and nomination, day-ahead bidding, intraday trading, battery optimisation, and asset connectivity.
