Setting new standards in deep tech: Hogan Lovells advises lead investors on €100 million financing round of semiconductor pioneer FMC

Press releases | 19 December 2025

Led by Counsel Thiemo Woertge, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Munich-based venture capital firm HV Capital and the Deep Tech & Climate Fund (DTCF) as lead investors in a €100 million financing round of Dresden-based semiconductor company Ferroelectric Memory Company (FMC).

The Series C round ranks among the largest financing rounds in the European semiconductor sector. It was led by HV Capital and DTCF, with Vsquared Ventures investing additional funds as a co-investor. Existing investors eCAPITAL, Bosch Ventures, Air Liquide Venture Capital, M Ventures (Merck), and Verve Ventures also continued their engagement.

With the new capital, FMC is setting new standards: the funds are intended to accelerate the commercialization of its memory chips and system solutions, and drive forward international expansion. The energy-efficient technology enables the global rollout of AI data centers and AI edge applications, and has the potential to establish itself as a new industry standard. The transaction makes an important contribution to European deep-tech and technological sovereignty in a memory chip market worth over €100 billion.

Hogan Lovells provided comprehensive advice to the lead investors HV Capital and DTCF on all aspects of the investment process. The team regularly handles complex transactions at the intersection of technology and venture capital / growth equity and supports companies and investors in strategic financing in the deep-tech sector.
