Press releases | 16 October 2025

Led by partner Dr Carla Luh, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised private bank Berenberg and the Berenberg Green Energy Debt Funds managed by Berenberg (Berenberg) on the financing of a wind park portfolio of ABO Energy in Germany.

Berenberg and its managed Berenberg Green Energy Debt Funds are providing the financing for eleven German wind parks in several Federal states with a volume of approximately 200 MW, which are ready-to-built or already in the construction phase. The unitranche credit facility will be issued in addition to the equity already invested and will support the optimisation of liquidity at the level of several project companies (portfolio) until the planned sales of the wind farms.

Hogan Lovells advised long standing Berenberg comprehensively on all matters relating to the financing and the due diligence.

"This transaction underlines our deep expertise in advising on complex renewable energy financings in Germany and across Europe", says Dr. Carla Luh, Head of the Finance practice group in Germany.
