Global law firm Hogan Lovells advised the European Investment Bank (“EIB”) on its entry into a long-term partnership, with €15 million committed to R&D support over the first three years, for the Luxembourg-based 3D scanning developer Artec 3D.

As mentioned in the EIB press release, Artec 3D has secured EIB venture debt financing to advance its RDI in next-generation scanning technologies. EIB funding supports Artec 3D’s investments in its research facilities in both Luxembourg and Portugal. The financing marks the EIB’s first venture debt operation in Luxembourg backed under the European Commission’s InvestEU initiative.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Banking and Capital Markets partner Ariane Mehrshahi Marks, with support in Luxembourg from senior associates Agnes Merz and Valérie Laskowski, associate Eszter Vörös (Banking and Capital markets), partner Alexander Koch, counsel Benoit Serraf, and associate Marine Bauchet (Corporate), and in New York from partner Sina Hekmat, and counsel Stevan Nicholas.
