Niklas Knop advises national and international companies on commercial and distribution law as well as on consumer protection and regulatory matters. His practice focuses in particular on e-commerce & consumer goods, industrial goods, transportation & logistics, and defense.
Niklas assists clients in drafting and negotiating complex (international) contracts – especially in the areas of procurement, sales, distribution and transport, R&D, as well as leasing and SaaS. He also represents his clients in enforcing and defending contractual claims.
A particular focus of his practice lies in advising in the field of capital goods ("heavy assets", especially in mechanical and plant engineering, as well as the defense industry). Having advised on numerous large-scale national and international projects and supported several industrial and defense companies on a wide range of in-house legal matters, he possesses extensive industry knowledge.
He also regularly coordinates cross-border projects, often related to market entries into the EU, and advises economic operators along the entire value chain (including manufacturers and online marketplaces as well as logistics and fulfilment service providers) on matters relating to e-commerce, consumer protection, and licensing requirements. Niklas also publishes regularly on these topics.
He was first introduced to distribution law during his legal traineeship with a leading global automobile manufacturer.
