Arjun Garg, formerly the Chief Counsel and Acting Deputy Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and also the Chief Counsel of the Federal Transit Administration, is an authority on transportation law and advises clients across a variety of aerospace and other transportation issues.

Arjun is an established leader in the aviation industry whose clients benefit from his versatility. With experience as a regulator, litigator, and counselor, Arjun combines technical skill as a lawyer with the strategic perspective of an executive and the relationships of a senior government official. Arjun previously gained a decade of civil litigation experience in administrative law and commercial matters as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, an associate at an international law firm, and a law clerk to the Hon. Thomas F. Hogan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Conducted diligence and secured regulatory approval for Stonepeak’s $3.1B acquisition of ATSG, the parent of three Part 121 air carriers, two Part 145 repair stations and two Part 142 training centers

Conducted diligence and secured regulatory approval for HIG Capital’s acquisition of Part 121 air carrier USA Jet

Provided aviation regulatory advice and diligence in support of Cirrus Aircraft’s initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange

Won a dismissal by an NTSB Administrative Law Judge rejecting an FAA attempt to revoke an air carrier’s Part 121 certificate

Successfully represented American Airlines in a DOT competitive route proceeding to serve Tokyo Haneda airport

Secured a precedent-setting FAA exemption for Midwest ATC in support of a groundbreaking training program to boost the pipeline of air traffic controllers
