Her broad-based experience includes working with clients on secured debt, export credit agency supported transactions, revolving credit facilities, finance leases, operating leases, and portfolio acquisitions as well as asset-backed structured financings for commercial and investment banks, financial institutions, aircraft operating lessors, and airlines. She also advises clients on the purchase and financing of corporate aircraft and helicopters.
Mehtap frequently handles finance transactions that involve multiple global jurisdictions. She is a native of Turkey and is fluent in Turkish.
Prior to joining the firm, Mehtap was in private practice, where she focused on global transportation finance. She has been recognized by Chambers & Partners for Transportation: Aviation: Finance and she has been recognized by the Women in Business Law Americas Awards in 2025 in the North American Aviation Lawyer of the Year category.
Mehtap is actively involved in the aviation industry through her membership in various trade associations and her service with charitable organizations. She served as a Governing Committee Member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Air & Space Law for five years. Other organizations that she regularly participates in include the International Society of Transport Aircraft Traders (ISTAT), the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA) and the Advancing Women in Aviation Roundtable (AWAR). Mehtap is also committed to Airlink (a global humanitarian organization delivering critical aid to communities in crisis by providing free airlift and logistical solutions) and serves as an Ambassador to Airlink.
