Advancing healthcare innovation in the U.S. with the AI Healthcare Coalition

The AI Healthcare Coalition sought to influence U.S. healthcare policy through the Healthy Futures Task Force, focusing on modernizing the healthcare system and expanding access to AI tools.

The challenge was to effectively communicate the benefits of healthcare AI across multiple specialties and ensure Medicare's regulatory framework supports access to these technologies. This required strategic engagement with policymakers to advocate for policies that expand access to rural communities, improve patient care, and integrate innovative AI solutions into the healthcare system.

Engaging early. Shaping policy. Advancing healthcare modernization.

Hogan Lovells' government affairs and healthcare technology partner, Cybil Roehrenbeck, represented the AI Healthcare Coalition during the Healthy Futures Task Force's Modernization Subcommittee rollout.

Participating in a roundtable with U.S. Representatives and industry leaders, Roehrenbeck highlighted the clinical benefits of AI diagnostics and discussed strategies for Medicare to ensure access to assistive, augmentative, and autonomous AI technologies. Her insights supported the Task Force's goals of modernizing healthcare, reducing costs, and expanding patient-centered technologies. The Modernization Subcommittee aims to safeguard telehealth access, combat fraud, and enhance technology access. By engaging with policymakers, Roehrenbeck helped shape policy principles that promote innovative healthcare solutions.

This collaboration underscores our commitment to advancing healthcare modernization and ensuring that AI technologies are integrated into the healthcare system, ultimately improving patient outcomes and providing Americans with more choices in their healthcare journey.
