Hogan Lovells trio selected for Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Positions

Denver/Philadelphia/Washington D.C., 04 March 2021 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce the appointment of partner Russell Benjamin Hedman as the firm’s 2021 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow, the premier legal diversity organization in the United States engaging general counsel and managing partners of law firms to promote diversity and inclusion in legal organizations.

The LCLD Fellows Program identifies high-potential lawyers from diverse backgrounds and sets them on the path to leadership within their organizations. Over the course of a year, each Fellow embarks on a leadership program that includes in-person conferences, training in the fine points of legal practice, peer-group projects to foster collaboration and build relationships, and extensive contact with LCLD's top leadership, including managing partners and general counsel.

Denver-based M&A partner Russell Benjamin Hedman leads and negotiates complex M&A and investment transactions around the world, with a particular focus on private equity, sports teams and entertainment businesses. He is an active contributor to the Denver community and sits on the board of directors of the Denver Public Schools Foundation and the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce.

The firm has also designated senior associates Jasmeet Ahuja and Megan Wilson as the 2021 LCLD Pathfinders.

The Pathfinder Program is designed for diverse, high potential, early career lawyers to help them develop and leverage professional networks through relationship building skills, foundational leadership skills, and an understanding of career development strategies applicable to both in-house and law firm practice.

Philadelphia-based litigation senior associate Jasmeet Ahuja is a trained engineer who works on cybersecurity, data privacy, and technology matters. She also counsels companies in complex antitrust litigation. Her pro bono work has focused on gun regulation reform and immigrant rights, including in representing the City of Philadelphia as a so-called “sanctuary city.” She has been recognized by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association as one of their nationwide Best Under 40 for 2020.

Public procurement and education senior associate Megan Wilson has experience spanning the range of education sector client needs, including regulatory compliance, transactions, and internal and government investigations. She aligns industry-specific requirements with pragmatic considerations and best practices to help institutions and companies advance their strategic objectives and navigate complex issues. Megan also coordinates the firm’s Washington D.C. office’s Law Day partnership with Thurgood Marshall Academy, where ninth grade students practice legal skills with lawyer volunteers. Megan serves on the Associate Board of City Year DC and was named to The National Black Lawyers' Top 40 Under 40 list in 2019 and 2020.
